Getting started
Requirements
- WordPress
- WPML Multilingual CMS installed and active
- An OpenAI account and API key
OpenAI is an external service. API usage is billed separately by OpenAI according to your OpenAI account.
Installation
- Install and activate WPML Multilingual CMS.
- Install and activate SmartTranslate AI.
- Add your OpenAI API key.
- Run Diagnostics to verify the main requirements.
Translate an article
- Select source and target languages.
- Choose Draft or Published.
- Select an untranslated article or enter its WordPress ID.
- Start the translation.
Existing or in-progress WPML translations
SmartTranslate AI can stop the operation when WPML already recognizes a translation or when the same translation is already being processed by WPML Translation Management.
Free and Premium
The free edition supports one article per manual launch. Premium is a separate optional add-on that adds bulk translation and scheduled automations.
